Every child deserves access to the best medical expertise in the world.

Pediatric Moonshot exists to make that true.

“One of the most potentially revolutionary healthcare initiatives I’ve encountered.”

WHY THIS MISSION MATTERS

The expertise exists.
Not every child can reach it.

86% +

of rural US counties have no pediatric cardiologist. Across oncology, nephrology, and neurology, the map looks no better.

Source: Kim & Warraich, JACC 2024

More than 200 million children worldwide are living with a rare or complex condition requiring subspecialist care. The average family waits 4.8 years for an accurate diagnosis. 30% of children with a rare disease will not survive to their fifth birthday.

There are fewer than 500 pediatric nephrologists in the entire United States. Roughly 2,300 pediatric oncologists. Just about 2,900 pediatric cardiologists.

This is not a shortage that more medical schools will fix. The conditions are too rare, too specialized, too numerous. The knowledge exists — but it lives inside a small number of people, at a small number of institutions, in a small number of cities.

Not every child is born lucky enough to reach them.

What this means for families

Sophie's Story

Sophie was three when she stopped making urine. Her mother had driven two hours to the nearest children’s hospital. The team that finally saw her was excellent. But two hours is the difference between kidneys that recover and kidneys that don’t. Sophie’s didn’t fully recover. She is eight now and on the transplant list.

Zip code is a kidney disease risk factor. It shouldn’t be.

For families navigating a complex pediatric condition, the wait is not passive. It is a series of appointments that lead to more appointments, questions that lead to more questions, and a child who keeps waiting.

A future where the right answer

arrives sooner.

We are building toward a world where specialist expertise travels to the child, not the other way around. What has only ever been available to the few, we’re building for everyone.

What once took years of tests and referrals can take days. A faster diagnosis means less time spent not knowing, and treatment that starts when it matters most.

A case one hospital has seen once, another may have seen many times before. When institutions share what they know, the hardest cases get caught instead of missed.

Wherever the Child Is

Wherever the Child Is

Geography should not determine a child's outcome. A child treated in a rural county deserves the same expertise as one at a major academic medical center.

How Pediatric Moonshot helps

We are building the world’s first AI supercomputer for children’s medicine. We work to remove the barriers between sick children and the specialized care they urgently need.

Understand where children get stuck

We map exactly where a diagnosis stalls, a referral gets lost, or a specialist is simply too far away.

Connect specialists, researchers, and institutions

We bring together the specialists, researchers, and institutions who hold the knowledge children's care depends on.

Build tools that bring expertise closer to care

We build the tools that carry that expertise to wherever a child is — no matter the distance.

AI for good.

Most conversations about AI ask what it's doing to the world. We're asking a more important question: what it could do for the children the market has never served.

Pediatric Moonshot is built on a simple commitment: the data never moves. Every AI agent we deploy is privacy-preserving by architecture, clinically validated before it touches a patient pathway, and built for children — not for profit.

This is what AI for good actually looks like.
